writes children’s stories about raising sheep and about traveling through National Parks and on the Lewis and Clark Trail. She often accompanies study tours for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Betty and her husband live in Overland Park, Kansas, and are part-owners of a conservation ranch near Fort Collins, Colorado. Her two grown children live in Denver and Kansas City, so Betty has memorized the landscape between the two.
